IPOH, Oct 29 (Bernama) -- The Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah, and Raja Permaisuri of Perak, Tuanku Zara Salim, today graced the 2026 Perak State Islamic Education Excellence Awards ceremony at the Casuarina Convention Centre here.
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad and State Islamic Religious Department (JAIPk) director Datuk Harith Fadzillah Abdul Halim were in attendance.
At the ceremony, Sultan Nazrin presented 43 excellence awards to 124 recipients, including two Special Educator Awards.
The 2026 Special Educator Awards went to Agus Lokman Sulam, who was also the National Exemplary Imam 2026, and Mohd Zulkhairi Mohd Nor, the co-chairman of the working committee for the International Convention on Contemporary Education (ICCE23).
Sultan Nazrin also presented awards recognising the state’s best Islamic educational institutions for 2026.
The ceremony also saw the launch of the Perak Islamic Educational Institutions Food Safety and Halal Management Manual (MUKMIN), which aims to standardise food preparation practices across Islamic educational institutions in Perak, ensuring food safety and halal compliance.
