KESUMA's MADANI Adopted Village Brings Facility Upgrades To Kampung Surau

KANGAR, Oct 24 (Bernama) -- The Ministry of Human Resources’ (KESUMA) MADANI Adopted Village initiative in Kampung Surau, Utan Aji, here, focuses on improving basic facilities and the comfort of residents.

KESUMA secretary-general Datuk Azman Mohd Yusof said the projects include upgrading Masjid Uthman Al-Affan, installing solar lights, road maintenance, as well as providing equipment and tents at the mosque.

"Through the strong synergy and cooperation between the community and the contractor, all the planned projects have been completed to a high standard.

“My sincere congratulations go to the contractor for their commitment to completing the scope of work on time.

"I hope the MADANI Adopted Village projects will benefit all village residents, particularly in providing better access to basic facilities as intended by the government under this programme," he said when launching the 2026 KESUMA MADANI Adopted Village at Kampung Surau today.

He said the initiative focuses not only on physical development but also on social well-being, through the involvement of ministries and government agencies alongside the local community.

Azman said this approach ensures the needs of residents are addressed, with projects planned based on discussions with the community and village representatives.

"The Department of Trade Union Affairs also pitched in to organise corporate social responsibility (CSR) programmes in Kampung Surau. Among the activities carried out were painting the mosque and a gotong-royong to clean the village cemetery," he said.

Meanwhile, Azman said today's programme also offered residents various services, including health screenings, free haircuts, free motorcycle engine oil changes and the Perlis Rahmah Sale.
